Attached to the municipality of Sauve, Château de Valfons is located 2.5 km from the village on the road to Durfort and is reached by a lane lined with oaks and plane trees leading off the D 117. At the top of the hill you will be greeted by a tall cedar, sentry of this age-old site.

Le grand cèdre

The Château’s terrace spreads over 400 m2. Lined by centuries-old plane and locust trees, here you will find welcome shade and coolness during the heat of the day. Two square beds surrounded by boxwood and planted with Himalayan plumbago provide a delicate blue touch in this sea of greenery while pink oleanders line the front of the house, planted in Anduze pottery showcasing local craftsmanship and know-how. This terrace with its typically Mediterranean vegetation is the ideal spot for an evening cocktail party or lunch in the shade of the trees. The view is exceptional and provides the perfect backdrop for photos in the setting sun.

Threshing-area terrace. Formerly a threshing area, this terrace boasts a surface of 450 m2. Located just below the Château terrace, a double stairway leads down to it. An 8X12 m swimming pool complete with pool-house and summer kitchen are to be found here. It’s the ideal spot for setting up buffets and dinner tables and for dancing around the pool beneath the stars.
